Greetings, eager, young (at heart) readers,
I am excited to introduce my debut science fiction novel "Sublime Maelstrom." In recent years, two of my short stories were published in volumes 1 and 2 of River's Edge, an anthology from Redding Writers Forum, of which I have been a member for several years. Two of my short plays were performed at the Riverfront Playhouse in Redding, California in recent years and were well received.
As a young man I obtained a BA in English from the University Of San Diego. Always an avid reader, some of my influences have been John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins and Colson Whitehead - none of whom, I admit, are considered science fiction writers. However, I have read extensively within the sci fi genre.
Our world seems to have spun a little out of control in recent years with the attack on 9-11-01, the economic collapse of 2008, the pandemic, the January 6th insurrection, a Russian invasion and even more unrest in the Middle East. It is only natural that literature and art reflect these and other troubling events.
I have attempted to do so in my own writing as well, but in an entertaining, sometimes irreverent, sometimes humorous way. I hope you will enjoy my work.
