Alan Gorsuch

Alan Jay Gorsuch lives in downtown Tacoma, Washington State, together with his wife Cheryl

and their cat Peanut. They own and operate what is possibly the largest singly owned antiques

shop in the Greater Pacific Northwest. Their business name, “Sanford & Son Antiques and

Auctions” has been familiar to many collectors, dealers and auction-goers since 1973.

There exists no real connection to the ancient TV show or to anyone named “Sanford.” Alan

chose the name “Sanford & Son” in the belief no one should take themselves too seriously. This

conviction, along with his irreverent attitude and innovative approach to reality, brought him to

the point of finally recording the stories he swore he would someday write. Alan started

swearing well over fifty years ago.
