John Perry
John Perry III was born on June 26, 1987, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, to his parents Roslyn Johnson-Perry and John Perry Jr. As the youngest of 10 siblings, John's upbringing was filled with the warmth and chaos of a large family. Growing up in the unique cultural atmosphere of New Orleans, John developed a strong sense of community and resilience from an early age.
John attended Eleanor McMain Secondary High School, where he graduated in 2005, just months before Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on the city. Despite the challenges presented by the aftermath of the hurricane, John's determination remained unwavering. He continued his education at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, where he pursued a degree in marketing.
After completing his undergraduate studies, John entered the workforce, gaining valuable experience at a finance company for a year. However, his thirst for knowledge and career advancement led him to pursue a graduate degree. John successfully completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on general business.
Family has always been a cornerstone of John's life, and he takes great pride in being the father of two sons, John Perry IV, and Jonah Perry, along with their furry companion, the family dog Josiah-Mack. In his free time, John immerses himself in activities that bring him joy and fulfillment, such as spending quality time with his children, coaching sports, reading, writing, painting, and embracing the joy of lifelong learning.
With a passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people, John has dedicated over a decade to working in various capacities within the field of education. In 2019, he took a bold step by founding Finding Escapes, a community-based nonprofit organization focused on providing positive educational services and mentorship to urban youth.
John's creative spirit extends beyond his professional life, as evidenced by his accomplishments as an author. He has penned three books, each showcasing a different facet of his artistic expression. "Any Time You Fall" is an interactive children's book filled with hidden images, engaging young readers while imparting valuable lessons. "Falling Rose Petals" explores the beauty of poetry, offering a collection of heartfelt verses. His most recent work, "Sea Of Growth," is both a poetry book and a reflective piece, offering readers an intimate glimpse into John's personal journey.
