Laura Ruberto

Laura grew up on her family’s 30-acre wood in New York State learning to love nature and reading. Her cherished time as a mom and as a preschool and elementary teacher included raising butterflies, collecting pollywogs, growing a sunflower house, exploding Mentos volcanoes, coaching Odyssey of the Mind and of course reading, writing, and rhyming together. (She also was a college ESL instructor for a dozen years and even tried saving the world for a while.) Laura’s passions include spending time on the water, handcrafting one-of-a-kind greeting cards, and going on long walking pilgrimages. The Gulf of Mexico: A Rhyming Animal Adventure, which she wrote and illustrated, is her debut children’s book in the ALL IN ONE DAY series. Laura is also working on a historical fiction novel that tells the terrible yet triumphant story of her Sicilian great-grandfather’s immigration and eventual murder. Look for her other children’s book series, LITTLE LAURA STORIES, anticipated later this year. Laura lives with her husband, aka Mr. Wonderful, in South Florida.
