Dr. Michael J. McDermott

I am Michael J. McDermott, born in September 1949 at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina. My childhood was a tapestry of moves across the country, following my father's Marine Corps assignments, from Millington, TN to our final stop in Anaheim, CA. As an adult, my own path took me from Anaheim to various cities including Detroit and Richland, until I finally settled in Perris, CA. In 1975, a chance encounter at K-Mart in Riverside led me to meet my future wife, marking the beginning of our ongoing 49-year journey together.

My career has been a blend of military and academic pursuits. Enlisting in the US Marine Corps in 1967, I experienced the profound challenges of the Vietnam conflict. This military phase continued with the California National Guard in 1981 and a transfer to the US Army in 1990, concluding after Desert Storm. Academically, after graduating as Valedictorian from Barkley College with a Law Diploma, I later achieved a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, along with Masters and Doctorates in Theology and Eschatology, at the age of 70.

Post-military, I explored entrepreneurship with a computer consulting firm, but soon realized my true calling lay in working with the disabled and elderly, a commitment that lasted over two decades. Recently, I've ventured into writing, with five published books to my credit, including, The Final Battle - A Journey through End Times, “Devine Journey: Moments with Jesus, and Veils of the Ancient Sun: Mysteries of the Lost City.

On a personal note, my life was forever changed in 1975 when I met Faye, my future wife, at a K-Mart in Riverside, CA, marking the beginning of a 49-year journey together. Outside of my professional and academic pursuits, I cherish the simple pleasures like hosting family barbecues, watching movies, and enjoying coffee and popcorn while lounging on the couch alongside my loving wife.

My life is a testament to the power of resilience, dedication, and the pursuit of one's passions, making his story an inspiration to many.
