Andrew Carey

Andy has counseled and taught counseling for over forty years, thirty-three of those years as a university professor of counseling at five different universities. His experiences include presenting at counseling conferences regionally, nationally, and internationally, and he has counseled at university counseling centers, a community counseling center, private practice, a school, churches, and a correctional institution. Previously a co-editor of the Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association, he has published numerous academic articles, one in the American Counseling Association’s flagship journal. Since leaving his roles at the university level, he has done mental health counseling part-time, and now writes. He coauthored his first novel, American Roulette, which was published by Sunbury Press in October of 2023, and will release his second novel, Unlocked, in December of 2025. In his spare time, he passionately pursues wildlife photography, traveling with his wife Kathy, and making a difference in people's lives.
