Terry Goodin

"It's not enough to know 'what' we are teaching. We must also know 'why' we are teaching it!" Terry Goodin is a Professor of Education at Middle Tennessee State University. He specializes in Problem-Based Learning, both as a way of teaching and learning, and as a way of thinking about life. He has worked with PBL since the late 1990s, when he was earning his doctorate in Education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. It was there that he was first introduced to the PBL Method, and it changed his life and altered his career. Since then, he has developed his own approach to the use of the PBL Method, which includes adopting the process to solve everyday problems in what he calls the "PBL Mindset." He has presented at conferences around the U.S. and has worked with and trained educators in the use of PBL in a wide variety of subject areas and disciplines. He consults with businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations in the use of the PBL Method of problem-solving and the PBL Mindset.
