Robert Schweizer

Robert Schweizer was born in Binghamton, N.Y. in 1944. He grew up in Western New York and has lived in England for more than half his life. He has a degree in philosophy from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and is proud to have received an 'Undesirable Discharge' from the Armed Forces of the United States for going AWOL [Away Without Leave] in 1967, to San Francisco and the 'summer of love', rather than kill or be killed in Vietnam. He taught children with learning difficulties, before moving into the restaurant trade, including working the floor in famous celebrity hang-out Elaine's, on New York's Upper East Side, serving as a manager at London's original Hard Rock Cafe, and running his own restaurants in South London. His long journey from hippie peacenik to reactionary old git has been a fun ride.
