Stephen Gunzenhauser

Stephen Gunzenhauser received his B.Mus from Oberlin College and M.Mus from the New England Conservatory. He has served Maestro Leopold Stokowski and Maestro Igor Markevitch as assistant conductor. His career has included guest conducting over 100 orchestras worldwide, and over eighty recordings. Maestro Gunzenhauser has served twenty-three years as Music Director of the Delaware Symphony and forty years as Music Director of the Lancaster Symphony. In 2003, his recording of Benjamin Lees Symphony #5 was nominated for a Grammy. Maestro has collected stories from a life well lived and quite varied- including conducting for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1993 and appearing on QVC to sell recordings.
