Julie Carpenter

Julie Carpenter is an author, journalist and editor. Her first children’s book, Harry and the Highwire, earned her a PJ Library Author Incentive Award. Her career in journalism has involved two decades on national newspapers, including spending many years as a senior feature writer and theatre critic at the Daily Express, something that allowed her to meet and interview a huge variety of interesting people and review many a West End play.

She read English at Oxford University and lives with her family in London.
