From dinosaurs hiding in bedrooms and aliens waiting among the stars to brave little witches, determined baseball players, underwater adventures, princesses, superheroes, and ordinary kids discovering extraordinary things, Minta's books are united by one belief: childhood should be filled with wonder.

As a children's author, Minta creates stories that place African American children at the center of adventures where they get to simply be children—curious, imaginative, funny, sensitive, courageous, joyful, and capable of extraordinary things.

Her growing collection spans picture books, early readers, chapter books, fantasy, adventure, seasonal stories, early-learning books, and stories with heart. Some make children laugh. Some encourage them to be brave. Some explore friendship, confidence, kindness, resilience, and belonging. And others invite young readers to climb aboard a spaceship, befriend a dinosaur, explore the ocean, chase an Easter Bunny, or imagine what might happen if the impossible suddenly became possible.

For Minta, representation is about more than seeing a familiar face on a book cover. It's about children seeing themselves doing, discovering, imagining, leading, loving, learning, and belonging within the story.
