Michael Bacon

Michael Bacon swapped the sports press boxes of England for the enjoyment of writing suspense thrillers in 2023.

A former sports journalist and editor, Michael covered many sports in his time working for regional newspapers, from football to speedway, golf to rugby union.

During his 25-year writing career he edited the Saturday sports paper, the Ipswich Green 'Un, as well as the football magazine 'Kings Of Anglia'.

His first suspense thriller, '38 Sleeps', released in 2021, received many good reviews, while his new book, 'Deceive Me' was released in February 2024.

Both books enjoy strong characters, with unexpected twists and turns, a feature of Michael's writing. They have a conversational style and dramatic endings.

Michael lives in Suffolk and, away from writing, he enjoys swimming, golf, reading, socialising and is a big fan of most sports.

Married with two grown-up boys, who have flown the nest, Michael and his wife enjoy travel throughout the UK, as well as abroad, the theatre, walking and pubs!
