Gerard Pasterkamp

Gerard Pasterkamp, ​​​​MD, is a professor at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands and specializes in the research field of atherosclerotic diseases. He enjoys visiting art centers with a special interest in old paintings. With the book Painted Science he merges his profession (science) with his hobby. His search for paintings depicting the most important discoveries and discoverers that changed history has resulted in a book with 200 paintings. Each topic is examined in more detail from a historical scientific and an artistic point of view. Most people who now own it consider it an ideal gift for their friends and colleagues with an interest in art and science.
