Thomas Rooney

Thomas Rooney is a retired federal executive, veteran, business owner, and author who is passionate about making complex topics easier to understand. During a career spanning more than four decades with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, he held leadership positions culminating in his role as Deputy Director of the VA Enterprise Command Center.

Thomas writes about personal finance, financial literacy, leadership, and government contracting with a focus on practical, real-world understanding rather than jargon. He is the author of *Understanding Money: A Beginner's Guide to Personal Finance* and *Financial Terms People Pretend to Understand: How to Follow Money Conversations Without Feeling Left Behind*.

He is the founder of T & C Trust, LLC, and lives in Cape Coral, Florida, with his wife, Carol.
