Barbara Kimmel

Barbara Kimmel is an award-winning children’s book author and playwright who creates playful, interactive board books and picture books that spark a love of reading from the earliest age. Her stories celebrate Jewish holidays, family traditions, movement, and imagination.

Barbara is the author of Hanukkah Hippity-Hop (Kar-Ben Publishing), an interactive Hanukkah board book named a Best Jewish Holiday Children’s Book by the Association of Jewish Libraries. Her book Purim Possibilities (PJ Publishing), featuring reusable stickers, is a PJ Library selection, a winner of the 2026 Grinspoon Jewish Story Award, and an Association of Jewish Libraries Holiday Highlights title. Her forthcoming book, No or Yes? It’s Fun to Guess!: A Jewish Holiday Book (PJ Publishing), introduces young children to Jewish holidays through interactive play.
