Robert Forsyth

Robert Forsyth is an independent writer with a working background in painting and decorating, and a talented artist. Based in Kirkintilloch, a town outside of the city of Glasgow in Scotland. Robert took an interest in writing children's books that would include his interest in birdwatching (Ornithology) which resulted in his book - The little plump sparrow. Robert is a keen amateur watercolour artist, he penned his book - The artist who forgot how to paint. Enjoying animals and wildlife led Robert to write his books - Billy and the fruity fox, and Big cats don't meow, they roar. Robert became a grandfather to Travis, a wonderful boy. Travis was born with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that occurs sporadically, affecting around 1 in 18,000 people in the UK. Williams Syndrome causes cardiac, physical and mental health problems in addition to learning disabilities including sensory, behavioural, social and processing issues. Robert wanted to write a children's book to raise awarerness of Williams Syndrome and came up with a lovely book called - Travis and his cardboard spaceship. The story brings into play the following themes; diversity, acceptance and inclusion, friendship and teamwork, coping with challenge and adversity, perseverance, wellbeing and achievement. Robert will continue to write children's books, and add to his growing list.
