Jörn Nussbaum

Born in Bonn on August 9, 1970, I moved to Munich at an early age, where I spent my kindergarten years and began my school journey.

Training and studies

After my secondary school leaving certificate, I completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk before deciding to take the second educational path. At the vocational high school in Munich, I obtained my subject-specific university entrance qualification and then began my studies in business administration at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

The pilot career

After successfully completing my studies with a diploma, I was at a decisive point in my life. Even as a young boy, I wanted to become a pilot. But at the end of my studies and at the beginning of my professional career, I wondered whether I would ever be able to become a pilot. I didn't want to have to live my whole life with the uncertainty of whether it would have been possible. In this case, I would have preferred a rejection than to spend my life wondering whether it would have worked out. So I applied to Lufthansa and, to my great surprise, I was accepted. This unexpected turn of events made me wonder again, but I decided to accept the challenge. I found my place in the cockpit 23 years ago (as of December 2023) and have been a captain since 2012.

The love of writing

Parallel to my career as a pilot, I discovered my passion for writing and wrote my first book entitled "Mäusealarm". I would like to share the joy of writing with others.
