Benjamin Cogswell

Ben Cogswell has been teaching in Salinas, California since 2007. Starting his journey as a sixth grade teacher and technology coach, he transitioned to teaching kindergarten to help establish a firm foundation for our youngest learners. As captain of the Kinder Rockets, Ben loves using EduProtocols and blending learning techniques in his classroom.

Ben received his B.A. and teaching credential from the University of Pacific and his Masters in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Ben has won several awards including the Teacher of the Year 2020 from his school district, CUE’s Blended and Online Educator of the Year in 2019, the CUE Gold Disk Award in 2023, and KSBW’s Crystal Apple Award. Ben has been featured twice in the New York Times and appeared on MSNBC for his work in kindergarten. He holds numerous certifications such as Google Innovator, Adobe Innovator, and Seesaw Certified Educator.

Ben lives in Salinas with his family and loves running outdoors with his dog, Koko.
