Joanne McGonagle

Joanne McGonagle is the founder of The Tiniest Tiger and the creator of Thinking Tiger Books, where she creates warm, inviting books inspired by cats, creativity, and the gentle wonder of the natural world. With a Global Field Master of Zoology degree focused on big cat conservation, Joanne brings both scientific curiosity and heartfelt storytelling to her work.

Her books are shaped by a lifelong love of animals and by the belief that small, joyful moments — coloring a peaceful scene, discovering a new idea, or spending time with a beloved cat — can spark creativity, comfort, and connection. Through coloring books, activity books, and educational resources, Joanne creates cozy worlds that invite readers to slow down, imagine, and smile.

Much of her inspiration comes from the everyday life she shares with her cats, Annie, Eddie, and Bob, whose personalities and adventures often find their way into her creative projects. From whimsical village scenes to cat-filled storybook settings, Joanne’s work celebrates kindness, curiosity, and the special bond between humans and animals.

Through Thinking Tiger Books and The Tiniest Tiger community, Joanne hopes to create books that feel like a warm invitation — a place where creativity, learning, and a love of animals come together.
