Joelle Crahay

Joelle Crahay, originally from Belgium, relocated to the United States in 1982 and now resides on Amelia Island, Florida, with her husband, Andrew Weinstein. Inspired by nature, wildlife, and the beauty of coastal life, Joelle began writing children’s books after retiring from her nursing career.

Her stories combine humor, kindness, curiosity, and a love of animals, often inspired by the natural world around Amelia Island. Joelle collaborates closely with her husband to create the illustrations that bring her imaginative characters—including Teddy, Marcus, Amy, Mia-Belle, and Ollie—to life.

She is also the author of Jawsome Sharks: Fun Facts & Teeth Hunting on Amelia Island and is currently working on new books celebrating the strange, funny, and wonderful side of nature.

Andrew Weinstein, in addition to being an accomplished cardiologist on Amelia Island, indulges in the creation of computer artwork during his leisure time. He graciously lends his talents to support Joelle in bringing her books to life.
