Why Not Me is based on my experience and the hundreds of dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease I spoke with who were unaware and did not know they had kidney disease. I wanted to share the mistake we made due to the lack of knowledge and encourage others on ways to identify this silent killer that’s growing at an alarming rate with no signs or symptoms until the late stage. Ninety-five percent of those people included were seniors, the underserved communities, veterans, and those suffering due to health care disparity. The lack of knowledge and failure to take an active role in your health care are just a few preventive tips shared in the book Why Not Me pertain to all diseases, chronic issues, or situations.
