Carin Johnivan is an award winning teacher with B.S. degrees in Psychology and English, credentials in Fine Arts and Secondary Education. She also is a certified naturalist with has a background in biological science. She currently works as a park interpreter
Her passion and motivation lies within the beauty and mysteries of the natural world. Besides writing children's books that encourage imagination and exploration, she is also a naturalist docent for the state of California nearby coastal redwood forests and the north pacific coast. Her next children's book is set in a redwood forest.
Besides playing with fairies, sprites, and gnomes in her books, she is also interested in teaching emotional health and well being. One of her next books will explore this area. She believes writing, like music notes in a song, can be a delightful form of human magic.
