Joseph Pearson

Joe is a native of San Diego who found himself somehow living in Atlanta. He enjoys outdoor activities like camping (note: NOT glamping), boating when he can afford it, and travel. However, this is ironic given that he typically spends a majority of his time indoors working on computers and sundry devices.

His favorite authors include Stephen R. Lawhead and Lawrence Watt-Evans, and he is a big fan of JMS and the massively talented Philip K. Dick. Those who know him well (or attend Zoom calls with him) are not surprised by his heavily-laden bookshelves, which occasionally serve as a backdrop.

He has been a tech entrepreneur, worked for media companies, and enjoyed working for small and family-owned businesses, which is why it came as a shock that he has been working for IBM over the last seven years and enjoying it.

He currently works on the open source portfolio for the IBM Software Networking and Edge Computing group, and volunteers with the Linux Foundation as a Board member of LF Edge, Chair of the LF Edge TAC, and Chair of the Open Horizon project.
