Victoria Campbell

Rev. Dr. Victoria Campbell, an AFTE John Wesley Fellow, received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Texas – Austin in 1995. Years later, her son came home from high school and told her that his friends didn’t believe in God – they believed in science. As a PhD Chemist and a Christian, she never viewed these two fields as being in conflict, yet recognized that most pastors were ill-equipped to answer difficult questions where matters of science and faith overlap. This led her to get a PhD in Theology from the London School of Theology – Middlesex University in 2021 and become ordained in the Global Methodist Church. Her research focuses on addressing misunderstandings in the science-faith conversation that cause unnecessary conflict, especially those associated with pain as well as those caused by Greco-Roman interpretations of the Ancient Mesopotamian Genesis text.

Her website is Science and Light and her X account is @ScienceandLight.
