D. Emily Smith

D. Emily Smith writes Christian Suspense Romance as well as Bible studies. Many have described her work as "funny, witty, and relatable", yet also "deep, insightful, and heartfelt". She believes that stories can accurately bring home important truths – healing truths - while also entertaining and capturing the imagination of readers.

A resident of upstate New York, D. Emily is a Biblical counselor. She graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia with her B.S. in Christian Counseling and then her M.A. in Pastoral Counseling, focusing on marriage and families. Her heart is for women and their various struggles, which is reflected in her writing.

Also, as a pastor's wife, D. Emily enjoys her church community and speaking occasionally at women’s events. She and her husband have four mostly grown children. When she's not enjoying time with her imaginary friends (AKA characters) and her family, she loves to go to Gettysburg, Pa. and other awesome locations to learn about history.

The "Deer Creek Chronicles" is her first Christian Suspense Fiction series and is loosely based on her beloved upstate New York region. It focuses on the lives and loves of the occupants of a small town, with intrigue and elements of danger seasoned throughout.
