As an activist in the parent support group 'Stop Medical Kidnapping', my mission is to educate the public about the alarming - and surprisingly common - cases of medical kidnapping. But what is medical kidnapping? It involves child welfare agencies (CAS, CPS etc.) apprehending SICK children from loving families after a misdiagnosis of child abuse by doctors, typically child abuse pediatricians, contracted by them. Our primary focus is supporting families of misdiagnosed children. To gain deeper insight into the issue of medical kidnappings, I recommend watching CTV's Dubious Diagnosis (available on youtube) or the documentary 'Take Care of Maya'.

Rickie's Rickets Journey is a book dedicated to parents of children who were medically misdiagnosed and kidnapped as babies. My hope is that it helps facilitate communication about their past, painful experiences and help shine the light on this dark topic.
