Ollie is a Principal Lecturer in Advanced Practice and Independent Prescribing at Canterbury Christ Church University. He has extensive experience as a Consultant Nurse in Acute Medicine.
Ollie was previously the National ACP Credential lead for Health Education England (HEE) and the Advanced Practice lead for the Royal College of Physicians, overseeing the development of the medical advanced practice credentials/curriculum. Ollie is the past chair of the Royal College of Nursing’s Advanced Practice Forum and was involved in the development of the Centre for Advancing Practice. He has been involved in many Advanced Practice national projects.
Ollie is recognised through his national consultancy work and published outputs. His work has been translated into other languages and is used globally in advanced practice education. Ollie has published 12 book chapters and 2 textbooks relating to advanced pratice. He is an international keynote speaker on the subject. Ollie is a committee member of the Association of Advanced Practice Educators and is a national subject matter expert.
He has significant expertise surrounding advanced practice scope of practice, professional boundaries, and role development.
His doctoral research, Defining the Edge, explores the scope of practice and professional boundaries of the advanced practitioner.
