Eli Lewis-Lycett

Eli Lewis-Lycett is a folklorist, history writer and podcaster specialising in the legends, traditions, and hidden histories of the English Midlands and North West.

In October 2020, he founded The Local Mythstorian, an ongoing project dedicated to uncovering the extraordinary local histories of Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire. Through original research, the project explores the historical roots of regional folklore and lesser-known local legends, and has evolved to encompass essays, podcasts, and live events.

Outside of the project, Eli has written extensively for the UK’s leading paranormal publication Haunted Magazine, serves as resident folklore columnist for Cheshire Life Magazine, and is the official historian for the Inspector Paranormal podcast. He has also acted as consultant for Blaze TV’s Weird Britain series.

In addition to writing and podcasting, Eli undertakes lecture talks delivering presentations on folklore and regional history at festivals, heritage venues and libraries. He is available for podcasts, live events and related media.
