Kent Warneke

Now retired after a 37-year career in newspapers, Kent continues to write editorials for the Norfolk Daily News in his capacity as editor emeritus. Among his career highlights include being inducted into the Nebraska Journalism Hall of Fame in 2012, in the Omaha Press Club Hall of Fame in 2019 and the Daily Nebraskan Hall of Fame in 2022. He was named the Nebraska Press Association’s Master Editor-Publisher in 2019.

His civic involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Nebraska Journalism Trust and the Nebraska Community Foundation. He also is a member of the Humanities Nebraska speakers bureau.

This is his first venture into the writing of a book after years of hard news and feature stories for newspapers and other publications.
