About the Author

Judith Lamb is a qualified psychologist who has worked in the fields of mental health and substance misuse for almost thirty years. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals facing some of life's most difficult challenges, experiences that have given her a deep understanding of human resilience, trauma and the remarkable capacity for hope and recovery.

Judith is the author of three novels. Her previous books, Living in the Unknown, Caribbean Way, and Living in the Memory, were warmly received by readers. In her latest novel, A Woman of Substance, she steps beyond her comfort zone to explore the powerful themes of domestic abuse, coercive control, justice, faith and redemption.

Although her novels are works of fiction, Judith draws inspiration from the realities of everyday life. Her aim is to weave authentic human experiences into compelling stories that reflect the struggles many people face, while reminding readers that even in the darkest moments there is always hope, strength and the possibility of a new beginning.

Through her writing, Judith hopes not only to entertain but also to encourage understanding, compassion and meaningful conversations about the challenges that affect individuals, families and communities.

Judith lives in the United Kingdom and continues to write novels that combine emotional storytelling with the realities of life, creating characters whose journeys resonate long after the final page has been turned.

Judith enjoys a wide range of creative hobbies, including gardening, home decorating, knitting, and designing handmade garments. Her passion for creativity extends beyond her home and into her writing, where vivid settings and authentic experiences bring her stories to life.

Her favourite holiday destination is the beautiful Caribbean island of Saint Vincent, the birthplace of both her parents. Judith first visited the island in 1971, and from that moment she fell in love with her parents' homeland. The island has remained close to her heart ever since.

This novel is lovingly dedicated to the memory of her parents, whose lives, heritage, and enduring values continue to inspire her writing.
