My name is Robert Stephen Herrick. I am a resident of Westfield, Massachusetts, and I am 46 years old currently. I have done a lot of local poetry including at Holyoke Community College. In eight semesters, I had 9 poems included in their Pulp City Creative Publication and even won first place in a poetry contest held to offer with a very large mural that had been put to its place in the Kittredge building there. The Care Center took a year or two to make it, my poem Netting Gold and Green was read to over 60 people in a boxy classroom. It has been a big honor ever since. This happened in the Spring semester of 2013.
I have collected chapbooks of poems, yet waiting and struggling for years, I now have my first book published When, Then, Will the Devil Care?: Poems and Short Stories. Due to difficult health concerns, I was pressed to leave something behind and contribute something back to society. My book is the result of that. If I can keep my health up enough, I will write a second book. Its style of short stories and poems will be similar but more extensive.
I have also participated in many poetry contests at the Westfield Athenaeum and have works of mine archived there. They even accepted a copy of my new book and put a local author tab on it. It also has some activity on World Cat, too.
