Katherine Hale Stringfield

Hello, I am Katherine Hale Stringfield, author of the YA novel The Mary Luck Tales: Witch's Curse. This is my first novel which is part one of a trilogy. I am currently working on book two, The Mary Luck Tales: To Hell and Back. I am from Eastern Kentucky, a small coal mining town named Auxier, where I lived in Shot Gun Holler. I grew up around a rich history of hard work and poverty which spawned many superstitions and spun many yarns that I absorbed like a sponge. I was born in 1971 and spent my teens in the 80's, a decade that still resonates in today's culture. I was the first in my family to go to college so I was pretty much flying on my own. I began writing by being a tutor but then took my years of reading and tried for years to tell my story. Loosely based on fact, my novel had been rattling around in my head for decades. Finally, with my daughter grown and my life on track, I once again visited the town of Auxier in my memories. At long last I was able to tell my tale. Three years in the making, I was able to type the words, The End.
