Amanda Miles

Amanda Miles taught children from 4 to 11 for many years before deciding to publish her books.

She always loved science and was fascinated with how the body works.

One day her son asked her how a scab was made and like all good teachers she said she would find out. That research led to the Cell Wars books. Chapter adventure books and science all rolled into one.

She has also published the picture books, 'The Brave Brain Cell' and 'Bands' First Day at School' to introduce younger readers to the Cell Wars series.

With an Irish family, her daughter discovered Irish dancing and that was the inspiration behind The Reel and The Light Jig in Grace's dance journey series.

She also published a women's fictional novel 'Mrs Nobody' set in Lapland, based on the real story of how Lapland became a tourist attraction.

"To read for pleasure is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children and books educate more than a classroom ever could."
