JoAnne graduated from the University of Washington with a Master's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (MSPA CCC-SP). She worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the public schools and her private practice for over 30 years providing services for children with a variety of abilities. Literature was the cornerstone of her therapy programs and writing a children's book has long been a dream.
Growing up in Washington State with 6 siblings, JoAnne's backyard was filled with kids, dogs, rabbits, ducks, geese, chickens and even a horse. Family dogs were varied: spaniels, retrievers and hounds, many rescued from local humane shelters. JoAnne lives on Bainbridge Island, on the coast of Washington State,
with her husband, Murray and dog, Finley.
