Carrie Lara PsyD

Carrie Lara, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with a range of clients, from children and families to adults with severe mental illness. Throughout life Carrie has enjoyed reading and writing, and is an award-winning author of four books published through Magination Press, the children's imprint of the American Psychological Association.

Carrie's books include: Marvelous, Maravilloso: Me and My Beautiful Family, The Heart of Mi Familia, and A Year of Celebraciones, which focus on stories of cultural identity and were inspired by her children’s bicultural experiences. The fourth, Out of the Fires: A Journal of Resilience and Recovery After Disaster, was written to help children, families and communities through the devastation of natural disasters.
