Waarde Piet Van

Pieter Van Waarde is a writer, speaker, consultant and friend of spiritual seekers.

Born in the Netherlands, Pieter retains a love for his Dutch heritage and still speaks the language today. As the oldest of five children, he immigrated with his family to the United States in 1959. Growing up on the East Coast, he acquired a taste for New York Yankee baseball, New England clam chowder, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Do those things even go together?

A product of the late 60's and early 70's, Pieter paid homage to the party gods before embarking on a spiritual quest that led him to pastoral ministry. He currently serves as the lead pastor of a contemporary interdenominational church, reaching several thousand people throughout Mid-Missouri. His church has twice been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as the Small Business of the Year.

Pieter is also the founder and president of Team Building Resources, LLC — a consulting firm specializing in team building, conflict resolution and leadership development. His company works with large, complex organizations, including the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics, State Farm Insurance, and the Missouri Baptist Convention, as well as a variety of small business and non-profit organizations.

Pieter is a published author on the subject of team-building, and his articles have appeared in Focus on the Family magazine among other publications. Pieter has a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Masters degrees in both Business Management and Biblical Studies.

At his core, Pieter's passion is walking the path with people. He's fascinated by the journey and adventure of life, and is more interested in examining life's questions honestly than rehearsing over-used clichés.
