Michael Lockett has an MFA from Carlow University. He's a lover of the short story and inspired by the works of Breece D'J Pancake, Lewis Nordin, and Katherine Mansfield. His stories have appeared in the Northern Appalachia Review, Prometheus Dreaming, Twisted Vine, Hive Avenue, Tainit Taint Tain, Matthew's Place through the Matthew Shepard Foundation, History Through Fiction and Quarter Press. Hid debut collection of short stories In the Cut is published through Sunbury's Catamount Press. He's a 2022 nominee for the James Baldwin Award. Lockett is a former Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Mauritania, West Africa. He currently lives in Pittsburgh's Northside with his partner, cats, and birds.
