Carol came from a blue collar family in Buffalo, NY. Her unexpected military career began as an enlisted soldier and triumphed as an Army Colonel who had a wartime command in Iraq.
She went to Basic Training at 28 years old; jump school at 38 years old; and volunteered for a tour in Iraq at 58 years old. She served 32 years in the Army while raising her five children. She now has seven grandchildren and happily resides in Maryland with her husband Grady.
