James M. Clash

Jim Clash is a longtime Forbes writer who primarily covers adventure. During his career, he has pioneered a form of journalism known as “experiential” or “participatory” - he immerses himself in the adventures he covers, whether it be climbing the Matterhorn, flying to the edge of space in a supersonic Russian MiG, driving a race car at 250 mph or riding 60-foot waves on a jet ski. His past books include the New York Times-reviewed “Forbes To The Limits” (2003), and “The Right Stuff: Interviews With Icons Of The 1960s” (2012). His latest, “Amplified,” an Amazon bestseller, is a departure from the subject of adventure, instead focusing on classic rock. Jim has an MBA from Columbia University and is a former board director at The Explorers Club.
