Benito Ciarlo

Benito Ciarlo was born in Calabria, in Montalto Uffugo (CS) on Sunday the sixteenth of April one thousand nine hundred and fifty, at noon. On Sunday, at midday: and this explains his innate laziness and his powerful appetite.

He has lived in Serravalle Scrivia (AL) since 1968.

He worked in Europa Metalli (SMI group) as an expert in Environmental Protection and Prevention of Accidents at Work, as well as as Public Relations Manager.

Passionate about contemporary Italian literature, dialects and medieval literature, he has held numerous evenings disseminating the works of Dante Alighieri at the Allegri Library in Serravalle Scrivia. He teaches "Divine Comedy" and "Poetry of the Twentieth Century" at the University of the Third Age UNITRČ Arquata-Grondona.

He has written and published short stories and collections of poems, also in the "Romanesco" and "Montaltese" dialects.
