I discovered the joy of reading at an early age, particularly fiction. In my early teens I gravitated towards Science Fiction because it featured subjects I was keenly interested in at the time, and still am. This started with the classic authors such as Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, but quickly moved on to the likes of Clarke, Asimov, and Heinlein. During my public school and college days I added many more authors to that list; too many to enumerate here. I was a voracious reader then, finishing 3 or 4 full length novels a week.
It was my wife that got me interested in Fantasy Science Fiction authors such as Anne McCaffrey, however I still needed a strong science element in order to really enjoy those kind of stories. My interest in electronics and computers eventually led to a successful career as a Software Engineer. The needs of my family and career significantly curtailed my reading time, but the desire to write my own stories began to grow in me.
In 2021, as retirement became just visible over the near horizon, I decided to put my hand to writing a novel. It took longer and was more difficult than I had imagined, however I finally published "Luna's Destiny" in September of 2023. Currently I'm on working on the sequel to that book. In the longer term I plan on retiring and spending all my creative energy on writing more books.
Paul.
