I have a Mechanical Engineering degree from Clemson University and an MBA from Emory's Goizueta Business School. I have almost three decades of experience in corporate America. From a long career at GE, a few years consulting at Deloitte, experience as a senior member of a Transformation office for a multi-billion-dollar corporation, to major finance transformations, including complete finance department redesigns, involving hundreds and sometimes thousands of workers. I love breaking down how and why things work.

My wife inspired me to learn more about emotional intelligence as she was getting her Masters and PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology with a focus on emotional intelligence. In order to better understand the concepts she was researching, and continues to research, I embarked on a learning project for myself. This project culminated in almost 300 short stories which highlighted examples of emotional intelligence across almost all areas of life as a skill that can be learned and used correctly to improve personal, professional, and relationship outcomes. These stories were so helpful to me that she encouraged me to organize them into published works so that they could help others as well.

When you read these stories, try to imagine a world where everyone around you has a high degree of skill in emotional intelligence as portrayed in these short stories. I would love to live in a world like that!
