Wolfram Weisse was born in Munich and has had a fondness for fantastical literature, utopias, and dystopias from an early age. Like his novel’s protagonist, Ansgar Weiß, he himself is a long-suffering victim of the frequent June cold spells known as Schafskälte—and of the often miserable weather on his birthday.
One thoroughly rain-soaked birthday too many finally inspired his debut novel Schafskälte (Sheep's Chill) in 2023, in which the protagonist embarks on a wildly absurd journey to uncover the mystery behind this strange phenomenon—an investigation that unfolds as a dizzying roller-coaster ride.
With TOKPELA (2024) and NEPENTHES (2025), both of which continue the events of Sheep's Chill, a completed trilogy is now available: The Ansgar Chronicles, centered on a cosmically unlucky protagonist, his allies, and his adversaries.
Wolfram lives near Lake Ammersee with his family and his cat, Bonçi.
