Growing up in Littleton, Colorado, I learned early to appreciate any book that could completely "take me away." The Hobbit was obviously the prototype, but I believe the first was The Mouse and the Motorcycle.

Upon reaching adulthood (and realizing "book reader" was not a viable job) I enjoyed a thirty-year career as an ER doc, working mostly nightshifts. During this time, getting away to imaginary realms became so important that I made up my own!

My recipe for AMONGST includes mysteries, hidden clues, large amounts of humor, and mandatory late-night page turning. Now, I am thrilled to continue the trilogy with Book II: Dolphins in the Forest !
