Lauren W. Roach is a contemporary romance and literary fiction author who writes real stories with a touch of the impossible. A dog-loving, people-watching, self-proclaimed book nerd, Lauren has been writing for as long as she can remember even though some of her earliest work consisted of angsty fan fiction about whichever heartthrob boy band that had her attention at the time.

While other kids were outside enjoying the sunshine, Lauren preferred a less sweaty option: air conditioning, a good book, and a notebook close by. That love of storytelling followed her into adulthood, though her path to becoming an author took a slight detour through the world of criminal justice. She earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in the field which she may not use in the traditional sense, but all that knowledge about people, behavior, and what makes us do the things we do has turned out to be surprisingly useful for someone who spends her days creating complicated fictional people.

Lauren's stories explore love, relationships, grief, identity, and the messy choices people make when life doesn't go according to plan. Whether she's writing a contemporary love story or casually adding in a touch of magical realism into an otherwise ordinary world, she is drawn to stories that feel deeply human. Even when reality bends a little around the edges.

Lauren lives in North Carolina with her husband and remains the kind of person who has a book on her Kindle, one in her purse, and an audiobook queued up on her Libby app and will happily pull them out in the middle of a social gathering without shame.
