George M. Dean

George M. Dean is totally a product of his surroundings. While employed as a table-games dealer for nearly four decades, Dean had been repeatedly asked by his players, if he’d ever thought about writing a book on his experiences. Of course, these inquiries would only come up, immediately after an outrageous occurrence: a streaker running through the pit, a fist-fight breaking out between players, or someone losing hundreds of thousands in a matter of minutes. It wasn’t until Dean left the business – for medical reasons – that he took that idea seriously. Since he could no longer work in the gaming industry, he could at least write about it. And so he did. Dean was always told to write what he knew. He essentially knew two things: the gaming business, and himself. Therefore, his first book was to be a memoir, about his experiences as a dealer in Las Vegas.
