Andy Blackwell and John Wood attribute their unique position in the field of Security Management Systems (SeMS) to the ‘rude protocol’ that powers their research and development. The combination of Andy’s security insights and John’s design instincts works because polite criticism is banned. The rude protocol demands no-holds-barred discussion to ensure their ideas and products are robust and fully thought-out. So far, no blood has been spilled.
Andy and John led the creation of the SeMS Framework for the UK Civil Aviation Authority and pioneered it at Virgin Atlantic Airways. They have not looked back since and are on a mission to bring security management skills and techniques to as wide an audience as possible.
After numerous consulting and training assignments, countless magazine articles and frequent conference presentations promoting all aspects of SeMS, Andy and John decided they could bring their baby to the widest possible audience by distilling their expertise into a book.
They welcome questions and debate and can be found on LinkedIn and most social media platforms.
