Matthew Best

Matthew Best serves as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church as well as the executive director of the Christ Lutheran Health Ministries, Harrisburg, PA The church hosts a free medical outreach clinic staffed by nurses, a free dental clinic, and a clinic called Healthy on Hill for patients who need ongoing medical attention and care - all for a very underserved population of Harrisburg. He serves in various leadership roles in the wider church.

Prior to Christ Lutheran Church, Matthew served as pastor at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in New Kingstown, PA. He graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA in 2017. Prior to ordained ministry, Matthew worked for Project SHARE, the local food pantry in Carlisle, PA. He also did entrepreneurial coaching and has an extensive background in politics and government having worked for a Member of Congress, a lobbyist on Capitol Hill, a PA State Representative, and having provided strategy and campaign management for several candidates for office.

Matthew is married to Abigail, and they have four children and a dog, and reside in Carlisle, PA. Matthew enjoys running, reading, writing, blogging, and traveling.
