B.E. Audsley

Bryan Audsley, writing as B. E. Audsley, creates character-driven fiction exploring ambition, longing, moral compromise, and the unexpected forces that alter ordinary lives.

A lifelong reader of Dickens, Maugham, Zola, Dostoevsky, and other writers of psychological realism, he is particularly interested in characters who misunderstand themselves, make flawed decisions for understandable reasons, and find themselves carried somewhere other than where they intended to go.

His debut novel, Queensway, draws on years of research into London, Burgundy, food, wine, and Victorian literature. While developing the novel, he completed the Dickens canon, explored many of the locations featured in the story on foot, traveled through Burgundy, and visited numerous Michelin-starred restaurants that helped inform the book's setting and characters.
