Lorna Garrity

Lorna Garrity spent 25 years in the corporate world in Sydney, Australia, as a Project Manager and Agile Leader. In 2021 Lorna and her family returned to her UK homeland, finding a picturesque haven on the border of the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounded by green hills and valleys, Lorna was able to take up her souls pursuit of health and well being and outdoor exploration.

Fascinated by the history and treasures in the beautiful historic villages, towns and cities in North East England, and aware of the challenges that parents face to get their children excited to get outdoors. Lorna created an educational Treasure Hunt book “Word Hunt Adventures” for families to use to explore the area, the unique puzzle book combines the excitement of a treasure hunt with the joy of discovering the rich history and captivating beauty of the region, while enhancing map reading skills and learning about positive words along the way.

Lorna continues to create Word Hunt Adventures across the UK and looks forward to sharing the hidden mysteries with her readers.
